Do you get the summer writing blues? Or love the A/C time, perfect for writing?

If you follow my page at all, then you already know that I totally get the summer writing blues. I love summer! (The sun, the fun, the heat, the late nights on the porch, the wonderfully amazing long days...) Summer is my favorite season. That's most likely the reason I don't get much writing done between June and August. I tend to spend all my time outside and participating in life's daily adventures with my sidekick.

Once school is back in session, and my kiddo is in the daily routine of a 6 a.m. wake-up, all bets are off, and the summer fun is over. Fall should technically start the first day back at school. It feels like the summer is over at that point anyway. My summer ride or die friend is absent, and I'm left alone. Which makes getting back to writing pretty easy.

My first day without my summer buddy was spent editing Forbidden Bite, the sequel to Christmas with a Bite and, with any luck and continued focus, will be available shortly. It's only been a few years wait, but who's counting? After that, I managed to create my first ever book trailer for my Immortal Secrets series and I got back into my social media posts.

I really have been slacking. But no more. I'm fired up and ready to get tons of work done. With 3 completed novels that need final edits, and too many short stories to market, I'm going to need all the caffeine and motivation I can get. The back-to-school vibes are working on me, so expect lots of stories to head your way very soon.

Christmas with a Bite, a House of Elysian novel is available now.

Fall starts officially on September 22nd this year, and whether you choose to take the last of the summer to write or not, I hope whatever you do makes you happy.  While I'm not saying goodbye to summer just yet, I am putting my summer mindset to bed until the season changes in my favor once again. Until then, I'm going to do what makes me happy - write!
